1. Select ONE issue confronting the PHILIPPINE ECONOMY today and provide the details. What can you say about it? Voice out your position, comments, suggestions, etc.

2. Yesterday, the House of Representatives approved a bill that will split the province of Camarines Sur into two provinces. The bill will then be submitted to the Senate for deliberations and would also vote. Assume that you are a resident of the Bicol Region, would you approve such proposal to create two provinces? Justify your position.

Answers:

1.Paying big "TAXES" yet it seem that nothing has changed when you look around, the rich gets richer, the poor gets poorer. And even our country gets poorer, if you'll try to estimate and compute how much tax employees pay yearly,it could be billions or even trillions too.Minus the low salary given to the normal government employees, minus the small bugets given to each barangay and all others that need the national funds,i wonder now, where does most of the money go?To whose pockets? They always say they have small or no budget for this and that. Our country has trillions in debt and there's not much improvement you'll see around.

2.Yes.Because better divided into two provinces to become more beautiful and operation of a head guard thoroughly every citizen as well as the appreciation of natural resources.

3.I would rather not become a citizen simply because in politics has many grave tire.

ANSWERS:
1. The Philippine economy proved comparatively well-equipped to weather the recent global financial crisis in the short term, partly as a result of the efforts over the past few years to control the fiscal deficit, bring down debt ratios, and adopt internationally-accepted banking sector capital adequacy standards. My comments about that the Philippine banking sector which includes 80% of total financial system resources had limited direct exposure to distressed financial institutions overseas, while conservative regulatory policies, including the prohibition of investments in structured products, shielded the insurance sector.
2. For me, I think it's NO. Because i think the province of camarines sur will create a war to each other if they will separated,it can affect to our country and it is better for them to be contented in one province.
3. For me, I will not accept it because first of all,it is hard to be in that position and i know that being a secretary of the department of justice is a big responsibility to do. And last,i have no experience to do that and i don't want that position.

1.About the roll-back of oil prices,NCCP president Elvira Medina said apart from the steady trend of decreasing oil prices, there are other sufficient grounds to convince the LTFRB to impose a P0.50-rollback in minimum fare rates for jeepneys and P1 for buses.Because,If fare rates will go down, this will likewise bring down prices of basic goods and services. And at this time when classes are set to resume, a fare hike roll back will be a relief to commuters especially to students and their parents.

2.yes i approve that proposal, because it can not affect the economy of the philippines if the province of Camarines Sur is divided into two provinces because the camarines sur is the tourist spot of philippines like in boracay.
3.yes,i accept that because that oppurtunity is ones in a life time oppurtunity not other people can't experience that but in the other side it is a biggest task.

1. "Low Funding for Education", this is one of the problems of our economy because we also know that education is important to our youts but it is also one of the reasons why many children are not able to study. the fund given by the President for Education is not enough. that's why some schools increase thier tuition fees, resulting to high population of out-of-school youths. if many could study, many could have better jobs then the better the economy would be.

2. If I were a citizen of the Bicol region, I would agree to split the province into two because Camarines Sur is such a big province that it would be better for it to be divided. It would be better for two mayors/ congressman to run the province. More focused government and all citizens would be served in a way that nobody would be ignored. For such a big province, it would be hard for a single mayor to run it. The province is known to be the largest province among all the six provinces in the Bicol region, so for a better government, I would agree to have it divide into two.
3. For me, it’s not yet now. I mean, I’m not yet ready to accept such a great responsibility. It is not because I cannot do it, but because I’m not yet ready. It would mean that I have to study more and focus more on public problems.

1.) my stand on this issue. they don't have to expect, but they have to make it right, i mean inside the Malacañan all the people there should make the right thing, stop corruption..how sure they are? that this economy will perform better over the next 12months if today is still the same and didn't change anything, as what i notice now the poor is become more poor, and the rich people become between poor and rich.. how should we know if our economy will perform better if the others is corrupt.. Yes PNOY are not corrupt but the other yes, how did the respondents know that if they didn't see it?? noynoy should tried hard, let him know who's corrupt on the court.. and let other judge it. i think noynoy don't just focus on the economy,he must focus to the environment inside the Malacañan and others, to make the economy HIGH..

2.) no i don't approve that proposal, because not only one will run that provinces, but i think is not good for us and for them because some of the country will get confused, and some of mayor will sit on that provinces some of them will corrupt, corruption will increases, if two country will separated, like ampatuan, some of them will abused there positions. and i think it's not good for us. yes our foreign money will increase but, some of them will get confused, they can think that. is this the philippines?? why did they seperated it into two.. something like that..some of the bicol religion is happy because they have the tourist spot on there place, but now they will never be happy, because that two provinces will get notice but 1 of them will not, because when the representative approved it.. 1 of them will not be notice anymore..

3.) no because i can't handle it today because i'm still studying, and i don't have a plan to be a new secretary of the DOJ. for now i don't want to grab that opportunity, maybe someday if that possition can wait for me or for me. why should i grab that opportunity if i don't know how to manage it, or i don't know how to be DOJ. maybe someday if i finish my studies and i know how can manage it, of being a DOJ. but for now, my answer will be no..

2.For me its a NO,because if Camarines Sur will be divided into two province it will just create war or rivaltry in that said province. They should maintain what is inside in that province to maintain the peace and maintain also the natural resources that can be found in that province.Camarines Sur is one of the visited place in the Philippines becase of their well preserve and beautiful tourist spots. And it should be maintain what is that province look before also to maintain their good values to each other before and also to prevent misunderstanding.
3.Yes or why not,if opportunities knocks in my door,i think i should grab that chance because opportunity only come once in our /in your life, and we should not let that chance to passed,it will never come back again. And few are choosen to have that kind of proposal,it is once in a lifetime in our/in your life.

1.One of the issues today about our economy is the "Job Mismatch",Data from the Philippines’ Department of Education (DepEd) and Commission on Higher Education (CheEd) showed that there are three million students who are graduating this year, some 500,000 are college graduates and barely half of the total graduates get jobs immediately after graduation. The apparent reason observed, is that college graduates’ skills do not match with the available job vacancies. The Philippine government Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) expressed concern that many of the graduates do not satisfy what the industry needs.
For me as a college student the problem,I will encounter it in the future,I have watch in the t.v that these problem has not been settled yet. Many people are needing jobs, they don't just need jobs, they need jobs that are appropriate to their skills, with the growing population it is needy to be resolved, the Government is making job fairs to some individuals needing jobs and also making jobs that are fit to someones course or skills, its a big help,i hope these would continue and there would be progress.

2.If I were a resident of Bicol region, I would agree with the proposal. As a Bicol resident if the Camarines Sur would be divided into two provinces, there will be two Mayors to govern each of the provinces and the place will be improved with their help, also the budget for each would be there, we'll have another province.I think changes are not really bad, maybe it can help too. I cant really relate with this,I'm not really a Bicolano but i think dividing Camarines Sur is not bad.

3.I will accept the appointment. Before ,I dream't to be a lawyer someday, if President Aquino would offer me such position it would be my pleasure and it would be an opportunity to serve my fellow Filipino people. As I said I wanted to be lawyer before,I will not of course I accept the position with just that reason ,I will accept the position for I know I can handle it. I want to be just and fair to serve my people, I want to show that justice still prevails and will always prevail in every situation, it might be hard but its worth to do the job especially it would be beneficiary to many.

Since the end of World War II, the Philippines has been on an unfortunate economic trajectory, going from one of the richest countries in Asia (following Japan) to one of the poorest. Growth after the war was rapid,
A severe recession from 1984 through 1985 saw the economy shrink by more than 10%, and political instability during the Corazon Aquino administration further dampened economic activity.

my issue is all about the unemployment of many filipino in the philippines because the reason is the Philippines is the unavailability of jobs provided. With a growing population of about a 8 million, millions needed jobs and only few can sure provide one. The lack of investors and businesses that could provide good jobs for the Filipino people is one key factor in the growing unemployment in the Philippines.
But probably, one cause of unemployment in the Philippines may be lack of education. With the increasing demands of the fast developing world, it is really hard to find jobs when you are not a graduate of a particular skill or course. Though the Philippines is a literate country, its not enough to be able to reach the qualifications of most in-demand jobs because even mere sales ladies nowadays are required to have at least 1-2 years in college. We are facing a competitive world and its a must to reach the norms of development. Thus, a high educational attainment, which most Filipinos lack, is one way to uplift the unemployment rate of the country.

1.Import-Export Imbalance
This is a problem long time ago the imbalance of import-export products due to the industrialized neighboring countries, Philippine has nothing to do to compete them because of their low cost labors and raw materials. Agricultural products and aqua cultured products are the possible advantages of Philippine in terms export because of the country's vast water premises. also human resource for foreign employment.
What we need is control the importation and only import product that is really necessary and products that we do not have.
Exportation is one of the key in helping our economy and we must export all Philippine products and we need to make changes on the rate charges to invite more Philippine exporter and business owner to do export business.

2.If i was one of the people living in the province of Camarines Sur, i will not agree to split the province into two. This plan will cause a great cost and may trigger disagreement and conflict between the residence of the provunce.

3. If i will be given an opportunity to be a secretary of justice, i will refuse. I believe that high power affiliates high responsibilities. The responsibility and expectation are too high. i have no enough knowledge and experience to fulfill the position. CORRUPTION!

1.I may not know about the corruption but i collect a little hint and thought about this big issue confronting the Philippine economy today, because when the government is got a corruption the Philippine economy is going poorer, and until now the corruption in the Philippines will not stop, and until now many poor Filipinos thirst for good life, due to corruption in government. So he/she develop those who commit sin as the hold-up and robbed because they have no job and no money to offer to their families, I remember when President Aquino said "Kung Walang kurrap walang mahirap" but why until now Many Filipinos thirst for comfort.

2.I will not accept the proposal Because the kamarines sur area is quiet and peace, so if you are more likely to develop two provinces kamarines Sur, in my opinion will only controversy and war to their place.

3.I will not accept the opportunity offered to me by President Aquino because iwant to study well and help my parents first. and if president aquino is giving me chance to finished my study, I will accept his offer to become the secretary of department of justice.

1.) I’ll choose the Dollar exchange rate. Why? It is because there are many Filipino people are working abroad as OFW’s. They are helping the economy of our country to bloom. But, is a stronger peso good for the economy? This is one controversial question that does not have a ready textbook answer. While important commodities like oil and heavy machineries are imported favoring a stronger peso, electronic and garment manufacturers, together with overseas contract workers, would vote for a depreciated peso. Sadly, a country cannot have two exchange rates at the same time. Market forces would eventually settle for one price. But despite the peso’s recent appreciation to its highest against the dollar in three years, the local currency remains at a “tolerable” level that won’t substantially disrupt the economy as Mr. President said.

2.) Maybe in some other reasons I will. But before they decided to approve the proposal that the province of Camarines Sur will be divided into two, they should ask first the people lives there or have a survey. And I think it will also affect the governance in their region.

3.) For me, I won’t accept it. Why? Not beacuase I can’t but, it’s very difficult to be the Secretary of the Department of Justice. And it has a long process to be elected as the secretary.

1) Import-Export Imbalance: Among the many economic problems faced by the Philippines, one is the imbalance of imports and exports. The negative trade is heavy and only counterbalanced by the service account surplus. Over the last two decades, Philippine exports have shifted from commodity-based products to manufactured goods. However, in the midst of the current global economic recession, the exports of electronics, garments and textiles are yet to reach a level of import neutralization.

2)I am not agree, because for me it will leave a conflict between those people who handle or will handle that provinces.

3)I will not accept his appointment, because i know it is very difficult to handle. Now i'm just a first year maybe after I graduated I will try my best and do everything to it .

1. " Strong Philippine currency: its effect "
The strong currency (Peso) retroactive affects the different sectors of our economy. Its implications literally has a positive and negative outcomes, this includes:
( Positive effects )
* Decrease on the value of our foreign debts.
* Increase the credit rating of the Philippines.
* Decrease the price of imported goods (eg. oil products) and foreign services.
* Create job opportunities to industries who venture on importing business.
( Negative effects )
* Decrease the value of OFW remittances likewise decrease the consumption of its benefactors.
* Could cause massive lay out or retrenchment to our Filipino overseas more particular in the United States.
* Could cause massive lay out or retrenchment to domestic laborers who are engage on exporting business.
* Stock Exchange becomes unstable and discourages foreign loans.

2. No, the proposal to split the Province of Camarines Sur, could cause impartiality on the local Government particularly on the political undertaking which undermines the area of jurisdiction, cultural heritage of the Province and the financial capacity to sustain growth and development of its cities and municipalities. The Provincial Government must focus and take advantage of the booming Eco tourism of the Camarines Sur and therefore up lift and develop the low earning municipalities.

3. Yes, assuming that I'm capable for the qualification as a Justice Secretary, the appointment bestowed upon me by the President creates a challenge on my part, since there are controversies that construe on the judicial system of the Philippines. Basically the priorities to run against those corrupt officials in the Government sector will be given emphasis. A judiciary that is firm independent and non politically motivating system shall be impose to win the fate of the Filipino people. My position direct the authorities for a better policing system induce the judicial system to work hand in hand in order to give justice to victim of criminality and civil offenses.

Questions on the fairness of our tax system are both valid and important, however, and they deserve serious attention. How much of the nation’s tax burden should be borne by the wealthy? 1.The Philippine economy is projected to post a 6.8 percent growth in 2010 and a medium-term path of 5 to 5.4 percent in 2011 and 2012 grounded in remittance-supported household spending and further government support for infrastructure development. In its latest Global Economic Prospects (GEP) 2011, the World Bank (WB) noted that economies of East Asia including the Philippines are poised to continue enjoying further years of solid growth albeit at a moderate pace as the world economy moves from a post-crisis bounce-back phase toward slower, but still steady growth this year. The report said that the overseas Filipino worker (OFW) remittances estimated to reach US$21.3 billion in 2010 will continue to play a critical role.

2.No.I wont approve such proposal because it would only make many changes and differences in the stated province and lots of people living there will make a new adjustments which is hard because they used to know camarines sur as one.

1.POVERTY!
The Philippines have been suffering from poverty problem and it continues to exist until today. There have been a lot of alleviation programs introduced by the government but the dilemma keeps on emerging. The problem on poverty has been blame to lack of political will of those officials running the government office in uplifting the people's lives from financial scarcity. Some have pinpointed it to lack of business investors from both local and foreign capitalists. While other says that it is due to rampant criminality that happened everyday in the different parts of the country. Many utters that Filipinos are lazy and lacks the required education and if educated the course being taken are not appropriate to jobs available in the market. POverty is really a big problem to the phillipines, i don't know how to react on that, i don't know how to have a solution on that, i think that government should focus on that and it will be a scrutiny of the politicians.

2. unfortunately i would rather say YES! on some way, if can build a new province, new political officials. more jobs, more manageable territory, and if NOT! there no reason for me to agree with the bill,

3. if our president mr. Aquino do that, i'am feel so glad, becaause it meanss our president have a trust in me in promoting and to have a just and humane society. but i will not accept that, to be in a position of a student like me who doesn't have any powerful voice and experience in politics specially in justifying or in the DOJ, it is very hard to be in that position, the burden of a losing client will be on you, being in the position of the sec of DOJ is a powerful thing specilly inside the courth. and i assume that being a secretary of the department of justice is a big stuff. And i've never dream of that, being a DOJ secretary.

1.Many have provided solutions to the problem: the government promotes the use of the more effective contraceptives while the Church disagrees and encourages natural contraception. I believe that the approach to the problem is incorrect. Population control may still be decades away from being effective, and what we could do today is to manage with the population we have. High population densities in certain areas lead to increased waste production and scarce resources. If only the disparity between the wealth and the poor be remedied by equal distribution of wealth. It is not anymore a question of quantity of the population, but a question of quality.

2.For me i will not accept it because their fund for camarines sur will be divided and there will be another election. That would be a waste of time and i know that their agenda was to have a position and gain profit for it.

3.No,becaause being a DOJ secretary is not an easy thing and sometimes you will receive death threat for your decision and a long thinking for the case you'll be judging.

1. One of the issues confronting the Philippines Economy today is the "Ouality Education" I choose this issue because every year there are lots of graduates and even professionals that until right now they still don't have a job because they can't pass the qualifications that the employers are looking at.According to UNESCO and the United Nations Human Development Programme, the ratio of the number of children of official secondary school age enrolled in school to the number of children of official secondary school age in the population (referred to as the enrollment ratio) is higher in developed nations than it is in developing ones.
Education Provides Country Advantage
Globalization and international trade requires countries and their economies to compete with each other. Countries that are economically successful will hold competitive and comparative strengths compared to other economies. This means that the country's economy will be made of various industries that will have different advantages and disadvantages in the global marketplace. The education and training of a country's workers is a major factor in determining just how well the country's economy will do.In general, better trained and better educated workers earn more money than other workers with poorer training and education. This is because both training and education tend to improve the a worker's productivity.A country's economy becomes more productive as the proportion of educated workers increases, since educated workers are able to more efficiently carry out tasks that require literacy and critical thinking. Better-educated workers tend to be more productive than less educated ones; however, obtaining a higher level of education also carries a cost. A country doesn't have to provide an extensive network of colleges or universities in order to benefit from education; it can provide basic literacy programs and still see economic improvements. Therefore, Quality Education is the answer of all the issues that our country is suffering right now.

2. No, because Camarines Sur is already part of Bicol region ever since. And I don't see any reason why the house of Representative need to divide Bicol into two provinces. What are their basis of doing this?

3. If President Aquino would appoint me today as the new Secretary of the Department of Justice I will Not accept the said position because honestly speaking you cannot give what you don't have. Being a secretary is big responsibility. As a matter of fact, I don't have any experience working in a political world.

1. Unemployment issues , The more probable cause of unemployment in the Philippines is the unavailability of jobs provided. With a growing population of about a 8 million, millions needed jobs and only few can sure provide one. The lack of investors and businesses that could provide good jobs for the Filipino people is one key factor in the growing unemployment in the Philippines.one cause of unemployment in the Philippines may be lack of education.

1.President Noynoy Aqiuno stated inm his SONA that poverty rate decreased under a year of leading the country. Poverty had been a major problem in our country. It is becuase of Filipinos lack dicipline in most of the aspects that covers the law. Gvernment do make progress and find ways to make change but the people are the real problem.
An example of this,is the increase of population. If we, the Filipinos, have more dicipline in ourselves,it would be easier to make a living for a small family. Another problem is EDUCATION,our country; quality of eduction is less competative, thus, Filipinos are forced to study with vocational course.
I know that our country's development will surely start in ourselves.

1.) One of the issues today is the outflowing high price of the basic necessities or the demand products. Most especially the foods, there was this issue regarding the canned goods on tuna that it will increased its price. The problem is, it is consume most especially with the lower class. In my opinion the government should make an action to hinder it. Family/people who are in tight budget will perhaps switch to noodles to their everyday ingested food. In this matter, there would be insufficient nutrients that they’ll absorb for their body. Filipinos will be unhealthy. Every basic need of the Filipinos is increasing. How can a jobless person survives his everyday basis? The government should step up and contrive a movement. Also I would like to emphasize the unstoppable increase high price of oil. If there would be an increase in oil price everything else raises fare, food and etc. This should be prioritize and control by the government.
2.) I would say yes if this proposal would give a better improvement for the Bicol region. And, perhaps it would be better to split the province for enhancing the place or the tourist spot. This proposal would be an advantage to be able to extremely concentrate on their differences and make use of it different natural resources.
3.) As of now, I would say no but if he would give me a chance to hones my capabilities and skills. Also, if he would give me time to study and to prepare myself for this massive responsibility I would say yes.
