Topic: Developing Person
1.A living creature’s growth and development must be guided by a blueprint or heredity which controls the selection and use of materials or environment.
2. Cognitive development involves changes in how children understand and think about their world as they grow older.
3.Environment includes all the conditions in the world that influence behavior, growth, development of life processes in any way.

Topic(2): SENSATION AND PERCEPTION
1. The five primary senses are: Touch, Smell, Vision, Hearing & Tasting.
2.Sensations can be defined as the passive process of bringing information from the outside world into the body and to the brain. The process is passive in the sense that we do not have to be consciously engaging in a "sensing" process.
3. Sensory organs absorb energy from a physical stimulus in the environment. Sensory receptors convert this energy into neural impulses and send them to the brain.

Topic(3): SLEEP, DREAMS, AND CONSCIOUSNESS
1. Sleep fascinates people because it may be somewhat reminiscent of death: We lie down, we close our eyes and we are dead to the world. Apparently, only a few minutes later, without being aware of any loss of time, we get up again. Sleep is an event that conveys the subjective appearance of not happening at all. We are not aware of having slept. Sleep is a non-activity that seems to steal one-third of our life. Dreams, that are usually part of sleep, can be very unsettling and can even make us question our sanity.
2. Dreaming experience is commonly viewed as qualitatively distinct from waking experience. Dreams are often believed to be characterized by lack of reflection and inability to act deliberately and with intention. However, this view has not been based on equivalent measurements of waking and dreaming state experiences. To achieve equivalence, it is necessary to evaluate waking experience retrospectively, in the same way that dreams are evaluated.
3. Consciousness operates with what you may call code systems. These are beyond count. Consciousness differentiates itself, therefore, by operating within certain code systems that help direct particular kinds of focus, bringing in certain kinds of significances while blocking out other data.
Topic(4): MOTIVATION AND EMOTION
1.Physicological motives are those directly related to normal body functions such as the need for water, sleep food, air, rest, excretion of wastes.
2.Love compared to liking involves a deeper feeling. Love involves attachment, caring, and intimacy while liking has more to do with a favorable opinion towards another person.
3. Emotions and motivations are driving forces that impel people to act. Without these, individuals might lack any real desire to do anything.

Topic(5): PERSONALITY
1. Personality refers to individual differences in characteristic patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving. The study of personality focuses on two broad areas: One is understanding individual differences in particular personality characteristics, such as sociability or irritability.
2.Personality disorders, a class of mental disorders that is characterized by long-lasting rigid patterns of thought and actions.

a.Motivation and Emotion provides an explanation of emotional experience and aspects of human behaviour using psychological, physiological and alternative approaches.
b.personality a promising new approach to treating complicated depression, cases in which progress is painfully slow, elusive, or followed by relapse.
social factors (I've learned it can affect my decisions making especially my perception too)It is tempting to assume that perception and reasoning solely entail physiological and psychological processes. If that be the case, the appropriate methodology for understanding and predicting another's behavior would involve entering that person's reality--metaphorically approaching that individual as an information processing system. This is psychology's imprint on Americans' understanding of the human condition: if one can understand how the world is perceived and experienced by another person, then one can predict that person's behavior.
c.Pain and Touch covers peripheral cutaneous tactile information processing, sensory mapping, tactile exploratory behavior, neurophysiology of nociception and nociceptors in pain research, clinical scaling methods for psychophysics of pain, and paincontrol, pathology, and therapeutics.

4)
MOTIVATION for me the motivation is the process that initiates, guides and maintains goal-oriented behaviors.
EMOTION is the exert and incredibly powerful force on human behavior. Strong emotions can cause you to take actions you might not normally perform, or avoid situations that you generally enjoy.

Phil. Government and constitution

1 •Article III, Section 4. No shall be passed abridging the freedom of speech, of expression, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and petition the government for redress of grievances.

Significance:
•For me, it`s an advantage to us because if government shall passed a law abridging to this section, no one could express their own opinions about what is wrong with the government, the people can`t suggest some things to help government official to solve some of the problem of out government. And if the government has a law abridging in this section what will happen to the people or our country? It can cause chaos between the civilian and government official.

2. Compare the following Presidents who are still living today including the current President in terms of their performances while still in office: Ramos, Estrada, Arroyo, and Aquino. Who is the best president for you? Why? Who is the worst president? Why?

•The best president for me is President Aquino, because as a civilian under his administration, I saw his desperate and perseverance to change the image of the government of the Philippines to good and imprison all those Former and present government official who make/making a elegancy in government.
•The worst president for me is Former President Arroyo, because all decision he made is full of elegancy and corruption. And up until now all corruption cases accusing to her is in court.

3. b. Reproductive Health Bill must be approved by the Congress as soon as possible.
• I agree in this statement, why? Because I’d like the government to control the population of Filipinos so that the would be able to protect the country`s economic development in bankrupt and reduce the poverty of the people.

3. Environment includes all the conditions in the world that influence behavior, growth, development of life processes in any way.
SENSATION and perception

Sensation & Perception - When we smell a fragrant flower, are we experiencing a sensation or a perception? In everyday language, the terms "sensation" and "perception' are often used interchangeably.

2) Perceptual Expectancy - how we perceive the world is a function of our past experiences, culture, and biological makeup. For example, as an American, when I look at a highway, I expect to see cars, trucks, etc, NOT airplanes. But someone from a different country with different experiences and history may not have any idea what to expect and thus be surprised when they see cars go driving by.

SLEEP <DREAMS AND CONCIOSNESS

1.From this perspective, dreaming can be viewed as the special case of perception without the constraints of external sensory input. Conversely, perception can be viewed as the special case of dreaming constrained by sensory input (1-3). Whichever way one looks at it, understanding dreaming is central to understanding consciousness.

1.… cross-sectional design. With this method, you get a group of participants who are of different ages and study them at the same time (not literally, but within a two to three month window). You only study them once (rather than multiple times, as with longitudinal research). With this method, you can investigate issues like social maturation and sexuality across the life span.
2. longitudinal research, it's study the same group of participants over a long period of time (typically a minimum of a year, as much as 30 years). This type of research design allows you to examine such things as the effects of day care, divorce, or environmental issues in development – over time.

3.… he allowed himself to be swayed by his conviction that human beings are not born once and for all on the day their mothers give birth to them, but that life obliges them over and over again to give birth to themselves

TOPIC: SENSATION AND PERCEPTION
1. A sensation occurs any time a stimulus activates one of
your receptors
2. Vision is In studying the many
processes of sensation and
perception, the most widely
studied and understood is
vision.
3. Gestalt psychology, the whole is different than the sum of its parts. Based upon this belief, Gestalt psychologists developed a set of principles to explain perceptual organization, or how smaller objects are grouped to form larger ones. These principles are often referred to as the "laws of perceptual organization."

TOPIC: SLEEP, DREAMS, AND CONSCIOUSNESS
1. Consciousness is a variety of aspects of the relationship between the mind and the world with which it interacts.
2. Whether awake or asleep, our consciousness functions as a model of the world constructed by the brain from the best available sources of information.
3. Sleep is a naturally recurring state characterized by reduced or absent consciousness, relatively suspended sensory activity, and inactivity of nearly all voluntary muscles.

TOPIC: MOTIVATION AND EMOTION
1.Psychoanalytic Theory: Sigmund Freud and his five part theory of personality. As part of this theory, he believed that humans have only two basic drives: Eros and Thanatos, or the Life and Death drives.
2.Humanistic Theory: humanistic theory is perhaps the most well know theory of motivation. According to this theory, humans are driven to achieve their maximum potential and will always do so unless obstacles are placed in their way. These obstacles include hunger, thirst, financial problems, safety issues, or anything else that takes our focus away from maximum psychological growth
3.emotion refers to a feeling state involving thoughts, physiological changes, and an outward expression or behavior.

TOPIC: PERSONALITY
1.Personality can be defined as a dynamic and organized set of characteristics possessed by a person that uniquely influences his or her cognitions, motivations, and behaviors in various situations.
2. Human nature refers to the distinguishing characteristics, including ways of thinking, feeling and acting, that humans tend to have naturally.

SENSATION AND PERCEPTION

1.Sensations can be defined as the passive process of bringing information from the outside world into the body and to the brain. The process is passive in the sense that we do not have to be consciously engaging in a "sensing" process.Perception can be defined as the active process of selecting, organizing, and interpreting the information brought to the brain by the senses
2.how we perceive the world is a function of our past experiences, culture, and biological makeup.
3.sensory organs absorb energy from a physical stimulus in the environment.
sensory receptors convert this energy into neural impulses and send them to the brain.

C.Sleep, Dream, and Consciousness

1. States or levels of consciousness include periods of decreased mental functioning as well as mental activity that is outside the realm of normal experience.

2. Our periods of sleeping and waking are regulated by our circadian rhythms.

3. States of consciousness can be altered by meditation, hypnosis, drugs, as well as by certain diseases such as epilepsy.

MOTIVATION AND EMOTION

1.Physiological motives are those directly related to normal body functions such as the need for water, sleep food, air, rest, excretion of wastes.
2.There are four clesses of emotional reactions: fear, anger, grief and love.
3.Motives found in both human and animals can be classified as either learned or unlearned like hunger and thirst, activity and manipulation.

PERSONALITY

1.Personality came from Latin word per and sonare, which means "mask".

2.Personality is more than charm, poise, or physical appearance. It includes habits, attitudes, and all physical, mental, emotional, social, moral, and religious characteristics that an individual possesses.

1.Developing Person

1.)The human development is virtually determined by the relationship and
continuation of a series of interaction between heredity and environ-
ment.
2.)Emotion affects performances of all kinds. It is closely related to
other phases of development,cognitive,physical,social,and spiritual.
3.)Intellectual is also associated with adaptive behavior to a given envi-
ronment and the organization of thought and action.

2.Sensation and Perception

1.)The process of receiving the stimulus by the sense organ is called
sensation. While the giving of meaning or interpretation to the stimulus
by the brain to respond when the receptor is called perception.
2.)Light,the physical stimulus for visual experience is considered to be
composed of electromagnetic waves radiant energy emanating from a
source,ultimately the sun.
3.)Illusions are sometimes confused with hallucinations because both phe-
nomena may be thought of as inaccurate perception. However, hallucination
are dreamlike images which are mistaken for objectively measurable phe-
nomena.

3.Sleep,Dreams,and Conciousness
