1. Which of the following is an example of a positive statement?
answer is : b. Prices rise when the government prints too much money.
- Prices actually do not rise,it is the value of the currency unit that falls. Problem is, our currency trades against other currencies in the global marketplace. The value of our currency is of tremendous importance to the health of our economy. If we have a weak currency, other countries are less willing to invest in us. Printing of money/ bills must be balanced according to market trades needs for a certain countries according to their
ability of productivity.

2. An economy is said to be efficient if?
answer is: b. it is possible to produce more of one good without producing less of another.
-Inefficiencies arise from unemployed resources or inefficient management. Which means you have the resources but you are not using it, like in our countries. Oppportunities of industrial development and employment is possible but theres is no enough job for our unemployed people to be productive.

-President Aquino has the poverty alleviation program in 2010-2011. Which means he has the eagerness and willingness to decrease poverty status of our country. He intend to develop a well productive country, as well as, a strong and established economic standing among other nation. Decrease in unemployed manpower is the key of his success, but it cannot be attained without enough foreign investors who is willing to hire them. That is why he is planning to work on infrastructure projects to attract other foreign countries to invest of having their bussiness here in the Philippines. But such projects, needs funds, that is why he had to sacrifice minimal ratio of other pork barrel intended to other government Project for this infrastructural project to materialize. He needs to do this just not to inflate the debt of our country to other nations. It is what you call using your available resources just to produce more products. He managed the the government budget as much as he can. Most of the filipino don’t understand what our president is trying to save, he’s saving our countries asset and using it wisely. We have more than enough well trained and knowledgable professional here, all we need is investors to fill them in.

1. If welfare payments increase, the world will be a better place.
"lahat ng ginagawa natin o nagpapdalaw natin ay pera kaya kong tataasan ng government ang sahod ng manggagawa ang boung mundo ay magiging maligaya.

2. it is possible to produce more of all goods.
"wala kanang hihingin pa kong lahat ng gusto mong mangyari sa paligid mo ay makikita mong ginagawa o binibigay sayo.
3. Economic growth of the past decades has helped some groups to become prosperous. But the impact on the average Filipino is unimpressive. A worse aspect of this condition is that a large proportion of the young in the labor force and those with little education are trapped in this problem. They find it hard to find work.
The government has the responsibility to provide a window of hope so that each citizen of this country can deserve a chance at prosperity.
Thus the leadership owes the nation a vision of reform that is credible and achievable though challenging politically. In this spirit, the leadership has to lead Congress in enunciating a vision that makes clear what it wants to achieve.
President Aquino needs encouragement so that he can articulate a reform program that makes the country into a self-sustaining economic dynamo in the ASEAN and East Asian region. In my view, he could do this by breaking the legal and psychological barriers that hold back foreign direct investments from coming to our shores.
Three major interdependent reforms make it into a whole strategy. The first reform is designed to provide cash transfers to very poor families on condition that they fulfill certain actions pertaining to their family. But these public assistance programs must be used effectively as the carrot incentive for getting the other major reforms accepted.

comment:
With the new president. Pres. Benigno Aquino, a new beginning for the economy has been seen by the people of our country. and his new government is trying to raise the quality of our economy. the three-prolonged strategy is their plan. i think the author is right to what he said, that the strategy will lead us to foreign investors, and if this happened, the Philippines will surely be under the influence of the countries abroad. why? because the three-prolonged strategy that the government would definitely need so much reforms. for examples, employments for the poor, how could the government give new jobs with out new projects? and how could they build more projects without any help from the foreigns?for we all know that government can no longer rise ideas on how they could help the economic status of our country.

and so the question is: "how could the government help the economy? is the three-prolonged strategy be possible to help us?" lets hope to find the answer after they implemets their plan.

#1: POSITIVE STATEMENT

b. Prices rise when the government prints too much money.
-- This is considered to be a positive statement because it contains no indication of approval or disapproval. A positive statement tells what is currently understood about the way the world operates. It may be right or wrong, but we can test it by checking it against the facts.

#2: An economy is said to be efficient if

b. It is possible to produce more of one good without producing less of another.
-- In order to have an efficient economy, there should be no lowering of any productions because it would only indicate failure. It is better to maintain the production rates of goods while producing higher on the other goods.

#3: COMMENT TO THE ARTICLE

As a citizen of this country, I have observed that one of the main problems of the Philippine economy is the population growth. Every year, a huge number of people add up to our population. And its alarming because our country can’t sustain the needs of its people. This problem led to higher unemployment rate. The result is that many of our people live in poverty.

The economic growth of the past years made some richer, on the other hand, made some poorer. Like what they said, “Ang mga mayayaman, lalong yumayaman. Habang ang mga mahihirap, ay lalong naghihirap.”

The article suggests a way on how to raise the rate of the economic growth of the Philippines, higher that before. And through this, it would help the country to level with the high growth phases of the economies of the other countries.

As said in the article, “the three-pronged strategy is linked tightly” – this won’t become a success if it’s not done right, has no support from the people and wasn’t put into actions.

The government is responsible to provide the needs of its people and has the power to let them know that there is still a chance to make this country prosper.

1. Positive statement

d. The benefits to the economy of improved equity are greater than the costs of reduced efficiency.

It is an approach to economics that seeks to understand behavior and the operation of systems without making judgments. It describes what exists and how it works. The benefits are more important whether the outcomes are good or bad.

2. An economy is said to be efficient if.

a. It is possible to produce more of all goods.

Because in economics, an efficient economy is one that produces what people want at the least possible cost. To become more efficient an economy, it is possible to produce more of all goods.

3. Article written by Prof. Gerardo Sicat of the University of the Philippines School of Economics.

Prof. Gerardo Sicat was right when he said that government subsidies are the easiest to attain among his three projected plans. The problem on the other hand is that the other two might take an even longer time than usual to apply and a higher political price has to be paid in the process. The president simply has to function under this extreme political force in the present constitution where temporary goals frequently have to be prioritized. The strong admired permission of the new leader brings high hopes for brave economic reforms. It will take out the authority of the courts on economic rule legislation and on business issues on basis of constitutionality. The making of particular economic zones as reported by Prof. Gerardo Sicat is a good outlay for the part of the government, particularly with the assistance of the private sector. The obstacle is the same, how to persuade his possess huge government, the private sector, and the working class to obtain into his national economic reforms when all of them their own individual and unique interests have.
